Navigator is a Department of Education and Training (DET) funded program that supports young people that have become disengaged from education. Navigator can support young people aged 12-17 years old that are; living in Victoria with a Victorian enrolment, or their most recent education setting is located in Victoria; with an attendance percentage of 30% or less for at least 13 weeks or more.
The Navigator Case Managers will support young people, their family and support networks to address any barriers contributing to their education disengagement. Through intensive and assertive outreach, Navigator works to re-engage the young person back to their current education setting or support them to access their preferred education pathway.
Counselling is a component of the Navigator Program that provides therapeutic support to young people experiencing mental health issues, aiming to remove mental health as a barrier and promote psychological strategies that support young people to re-engage with education.
Navigator Referrals are completed through the online referral form and are sent to the Navigator Coordinator located at the DET. Once eligibility and suitability for the Navigator program is confirmed by the Navigator Coordinator, referrals are then referred on to Junction Support Services. Online Referral LinkÂ
